Abstract: Among the 14 patients with respiratory syncytial virus pneumonia, the majority (n Z 8, 57.1 %) were older than 65 years and had health care-associated pneumonia (57.1 %). Over 70 % (n Z 10) of them exhibited bacterial co-infection, with a high proportion (64.3 %) requiring mechanical ventilation. The hospital mortality rate was 50 %.
