Abstract: Education using videos and medication reminder cards is an intervention that can be done to increase medication adherence to successful therapy. This study aims to evaluate education using videos and medication reminder cards on adherence to the use of antihypertensives in outpatients at the Tangerang Selatan Health Center, Banten. The study used a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) design involving 160 respondents, consisting of a control group (80 respondents) and an intervention group (80 respondents). Measuring the value of medication adherence and blood pressure was carried out before and after the intervention. Prior to the intervention there were significant differences between groups regarding the demographic characteristics of the respondents, clinical characteristics, and lifestyle. Pharmacist intervention through educational videos and medication reminder cards had a significant effect on increasing medication adherence (p: 0.000) with high adherence categories of 7.5%, moderate adherence of 77.5% and low adherence of 15%. This intervention also significantly reduced systolic and diastolic blood pressure (p:0.000, TDS/TDD=-15.44 mmHg/-5.12 mmHg). Hypertensive patients experienced 3.75% of adverse drug reactions of drugs with mild levels (Mild). Manifestations of adverse drug reactions are abdominal pain, fatigue and headache.
