Hyperlipidemia is a condition that needs treatment to avoid the formation of atherosclerosis and becoming acute cardiovascular disease. One of the therapies is complementary medicine in polyherbal containing garlic, red ginger, lemon, apple vinegar, and honey. Quality control of herbal is critical and necessary to do so that efficacy can achieve. The literature study provides herbal preparations containing these polyherbal as antihyperlipidemic and various tests in standardizing their preparations. Literature searches were conducted in national and international journals using Google, Google Scholar, Pubmed, NCBI, Sciencedirect, and related keywords. The collected literature screen with inclusion criteria, namely the time of publication in 2007-2021, and further searches by manually looking at relevant references. The literature review demonstrated this polyherbal mixture has an in vivo antihyperlipidemic effect equivalent to simvastatin with a similar mechanism. Each ingredient has a collection of active compounds that play a role in antihyperlipidemic effects that can use as marker compounds. Information on the characterization of these marker compounds can be used to study their physical and chemical stability. Therefore, it is necessary to explore further the stability of this polyherbal mixture to be stable for longer and provide more comprehensive benefits to society.en_US
