Abstract: Endophytic fungi exist in nature and are abundant in which they are easily found in plant tissue, such in the roots, stems, leaves, flowers, or seeds. The endophytes colonize the inter- and intra-cell area of the host plant tissue without causing disease in the plant. Endophytic fungi have the ability to produce bioactive compounds which could be the same or different from their host plants and have pharmacological effects. Arthrinium sp. are the example of endophytic fungi which are abundant in nature. Arthrinium sp. are known to contain secondary metabolites which are potential for development. Terpenoid compounds, alkaloids, phenolics and several other groups were found in the endophytic fungus Arthrinium sp. The compounds produced by these types of fungi are reported to possess various biological activities such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, anticancer and other activities. This review summarizes the knowledge, study, and reports on endophytic fungi Arthrinium sp., analyze their biological activities and secondary metabolites having potential for the development of medicinal and pharmaceutical products from the nature
