Abstract

Peranan Perajin Batik dalam Pengembangan Industri Pariwisata di Kota/ Kabupaten Kendal Charisah, Rodia Syamwil Pendidikan Kesejahteraan Keluarga, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Semarang Gedung E10 Kampus Sekaran, Gunungpati, Semarang 50299 Corresponding author: carisarisa0@gmail.com Abstract. The purpose of this research is to know about the role of batik crafters in the development of tourism industry in the district of Kendal, and to know the condition and how big its role. This type of research is a qualitative research through three methods of observation, documentation, and interview. The number of batik crafters in Kendal district 10 industries spread across the various research districts conducted on 10 batik industry owners located in 7 defferent districts. Most of the industries owned batik artisans so far increasingly experienced influence both in terms of products, competitive prices and product packaging. Which is interesting so it is worth competing with batik products from other regions. The result of research conducted in interviews that about 80% crafters develop their business not only in the production of batik but in the activities of batik tour with equipment that has been provided according to the agreed tour package. Tourism activities are capable attracts various layers of society from students (elementary, junior high, and collage students) and foreign tourists it is one of the contribution of batik crafters in the development of the industry tourism. The role of batik crafters is not seen significantly, but the industry has a good market in that aspect. Keywords: Batik Artisans, Tourism Industry
