Abstract: | Pemanfaatan Gulma Kencana Ungu (Ruellia Tuberosa L) sebagai Pewarna Alami Kain Sutera Menggunakan Proses Post Mordanting Nurul Hidayah, Rodia Syamwil, dan Siti Nurrohmah Program Studi Pendidikan Tata Busana, Jurusan Pendidikan Kesejahteraan Keluarga, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Kampus Sekaran, Gunungpati, Semarang 50229 Corresponding author: nururulhidayah@gmail.com Abstract. The aims of this study were to find out if gulma especially kencana ungu plants can be used as natural textile dyes that are tested on silk fabric using tunjung mordant, alum and kapur tohor with five different concentrations and know the result of the coloring quality in the aspect of color direction, color aging and resistance fade color against washing. This research uses experimental research methods and result are tested qualitatively. The method used is method of documentation and laboratory test result. Color quality test results obtained different result in every mordan. Tunjung mordant produces iron color alum mordant produced crocodile color and kapur tohor mordant produced hazelnut color). The color aging test result obtained very old category but the best color aging is tunjung mordant while the result of color fastness to washing best is alum mordant with good category and passable category. The conclusion of this research is kencana ungu plant can be used as natural dye of textile and kind of coloring quality that is color direction, color aging and color fastness to washing.
