Abstract: Teknik Ecoprint dengan Memanfaatkan Limbah Mawar (Rosa Sp.) pada Kain Katun Yesica Stefany Simanungkalit, Rodia Syamwil Program Studi Pendidikan Tata Busana, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Gedung E10 Lt 2 Kampus Sekaran, Gunungpati, Semarang 50229 ystpani@gmail.com, rodiasyamwil@mail.unnes.ac.id Abstract. Ecoprint is defined as eco-friendly textile printing. The main purpose is to reduce waste through printing methods and chemical components. In this research the part of the plant that is used is rose (Rosa sp.) petals. The rate of rose flower production that increases over time can lead to a straight comparison with the resulting rose waste. There needs to be another method for rose flower’s usage to stabilize production and demand figures and so that roses can have better economic value. In the dyeing system and making natural motifs on fabrics, mordant is needed as a substance that can bind the chemical structure of dyes from plants with textile fibers. This study aims to examine the combination of pre mordant and post mordant in the ecoprint technique with rose petals on cotton fabric (mori primissima). This research's method is experimental with variations of the mordant used are alum, ferric sulfate (Fe2SO4), and quicklime or calcium oxide (CaO). The dependent variables are color shades test and color fastness to washing. Data collection methods are through observation, documentation, and questionnaires to panelists. The data is analyzed using descriptive analysis. From testing the color shades and motifs, it was found that the fabric using ferric sulfate as premordant had a sharpness with value of 80%, cloth with alum and quicklime had a value of 20%. Postmordant determines the final color of the motif. Postmordant with alum produced motifs in the range of blue to purple, postmordant with ferric sulfate produced motifs in the range of dark blue to dark purple, and postmordan using lime produced yellow to brown. The color fastness test showed that fabric with ferric sulfate as premordant and lime as postmordant had the best results with a value of 93.33% and fabric using ferric sulfate as premordant and postmordant value is 81.33%. The conclusion from this research's result is that rose petals can be used as a motive producer in the ecoprint technique on cotton cloth with a combination of ferric sulfate as premordant and quicklime as the postmordant because they produced the best sharpness and fastness of the motifs.
