dc.description.abstract | Kajian Sabah Batik di Malaysia Feren Novita Sary, Sri Endah Wahyuningsih Program Studi Pendidikan Tata Busana, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Semarang Novitaferen@gmail.com, s.endah32@mail.unnes.ac.id Abstract. Batik is well known in neighboring Malaysia, so there are many batik craftsmen there, one of which is Sabah batik, a batik industry in the city of Kinabalu which has been around for a long time. Sabah batik is one of the craftsmen who has a characteristic in its batik motif, namely geometry. The purpose of this research is to know, the development of batik in Sabah Batik, historical facts of the emergence of batik in Malaysia, identification of batik motifs in Sabah Batik Malaysia. The data collection method uses observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique was carried out based on three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The conclusion of this research: the development of batik in Malaysian batik sabah is not significant enough from year to year, the emergence of batik in Malaysia is the impact of the trade relationship between the Malay Kingdom in Jambi and the coastal cities of Java, Sabah Batik produces printed batik and batik batik produced in Sabah Batik is mostly geometric motifs called ethnic sabah motifs, with the main idea being the Sabah woven book.
