dc.description.abstractGood sanitation is an important element that supports human health, because sanitation is related to environmental health which affects the degree of public health. Toilet management is influenced by the level of knowledge, attitudes and participation of a person in the provision of facilities and infrastructure. The number of residents who met the health requirements for toilet use was 13.8% and those who did not meet the health requirements were 86.2%. There are still many people who use the river as a place to dispose of feces and feces. The research design used is Cross Sectional to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitude with the use of latrines in Bargot Topong Village. The population in this study were all households (RT) in the Bargot Topong village of 270 households (RT) with a total sample of 161 people. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. The results showed that there was a relationship of knowledge (p = 0.001 <0.05) and attitude (p = 0.012 <0.05) with the use of latrines in the Bargot Topong village of Padangsidimpuan City in 2019. It is expected that the people of Bargot Topong Village are expected to increase awareness of the importance of using latrines to prevent the transmission of diseases caused by the environment.en_US
