Health workers as someone who is engaged in preventive and health promotion, should instill healthy behavior, one of which is by paying attention to nutritional value information in buying packaged food products. However, the status of a health worker is not necessarily the main pillar of someone in reading nutritional value information on food packaging because there are many factors that influence it. The study aims to determine the factors associated with the habit of reading information on nutritional value of food in health workers at Huraba Health Center, South Tapanuli District in 2018. The type of research used is descriptive analysis with cross sectional design. Research site at Huraba Health Center. The time of research and preparation of the thesis was conducted in October 2018 - March 2019. The population and sample of this study were all health workers at Huraba Health Center. The sample in this study were 36 health workers with total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by self administered questionnaire. Analysis of the data used was univariate analysis in a descriptive and bivariate manner using the chi square test and fisher exact test. Variables that are significantly related to the habit of reading nutritional value information are the ability to read nutritional value information labels (p-value <0.05). Variables that are not related to the habit of reading nutritional value information are gender, age, education and family income (p-value> 0.05). It is suggested to other researchers to be able to conduct further research with research variables that have not been studied such as perceptions of label information on nutritional value, preference factors, comparison of rural areas with cities or other variables so as to increase the repertoire of knowledge.en_US
