HUBUNGAN SUMBER INFORMASI DENGAN PERILAKU PERSONAL HYGIENE PADA SAAT MENSTRUASI DI SMK PANCA DHARMA KECAMATAN PADANGSIDIMPUAN SELATAN TAHUN 2018

Abstract

Personal hygiene behavior is an understanding, attitude and practice carried out by someone to improve health status, maintain personal hygiene, increase selfconfidence and prevent disease. Teenagers in general have not received much basic information about reproductive health. Providing information earlier and from a variety of reliable sources can influence the behavior of adolescents towards better menstrual hygiene. This study was conducted aimed at finding out the relationship between providing information with the behavior of adolescent personal hygiene during menstruation. The type of research used was a quantitative study with a cross sectional design and the population used was students of class X, XI and XII of S Panca Dharma Vocational School, South Padangsidimpuan Subdistrict. Questionnaire as a measuring instrument given to 147 respondents where the respondents used random sampling and univariate and bivariate data analysis techniques. The results of the analysis using the chi-square test howed that there was a significant positive relationship with the sig value = 0.000 (p> 0.05). In this study it was found that the behavior of adolescent personal hygiene that is good at menstruation has to do with the provision of information and it is expected that adolescents continue to perpetuate good behavior by participating in counseling programs carried out at school.
