dc.description.abstractThe use of latrines is one of the important health problems in the village of Panyabungan. Knowledge is the result of knowing and happening after people do sensing. Attitude is readiness to pay attention to various objects in certain ways. This study aims to reveal the relationship between the knowledge and attitudes of the community with the ownership of healthy latrines in the village of Panyabungan prior to the Panyabungan sub-district. research method which is a quantitative cross sectional design study. The population is all family heads who have latrines in the village of Panyabungan Julu as many as 123 families. The study sample used a simple random sampling technique, 55 sample eyes. Data analysis uses chi square to determine the relationship of variables with the dependent variable. The results showed that there was a relationship of knowledge with healthy latrines with a value of p = 0.003 (<0.05) and there was a relationship between attitudes with the ownership of healthy latrines with a value of p = 0.007 (<0.05). Officers in the village of Panyabungan need to make a joint commitment in terms of developing awareness of the importance of knowledge and attitudes to the community, can increase ownership of latrines.en_US
