Abstract

Breast milk is the baby food of God's creation that is not replaced with other foods and beverages. The right of every baby to get the milk and liabilities mothers to breast feed their babies, WHO / UNICEF have recommended standards for infant feeding that baby breastfeeding exclusively from birth until theageof6months. To determine the relationship of knowledge, attitude breastfeeding mothers with the action of exclusive breastfeeding in the village Sampean Sipirok Districtof SouthTapanuliPenenlitian Year2016. Thisisa descriptive correlative with cross sectional approach. Samples are partly drawn from the entire population of the object under study and are considered representative of the entirepopulationstudiedusingatotalof30peopleside. The results of the majority of the 30 respondents had knowledge of middle category as many as 13 people (43.3%) and the level of knowledge of minorityrespondentsinbothcategoriesasmanyassixpeople (20.0%),attitudeof the majority of respondents are in the negative category as many as 20 people (66.7%) and the level of minority attitude of respondents are in positive category as many as 10 people (33.3%), action majority of respondents are in the category of exclusive breastfeeding was not as many as 19 people (63.3%) and the degree ofactionofminorityrespondentsare inExclusive breastfeedingcategory asmany as 11 people (36.7%). the Chi-Square acquired P = 0.040 (<0.05) means that there is a relationship between knowledge and action breastfeeding mothers with exclusive breastfeeding and Test fishesr's obtained P = 0.015 (<0 05) means that there is a correlation between the attitude of nursing mothers with exclusive breastfeedingaction. Educational institutions should equip students with the knowledge of nursingmotherswiththe exclusive breastfeeding willbethe provisionofnurses in applyingscienceandknowledgetothecommunity.
