Abstract

Breast care during pregnancy is one of the important parts that must be considered as a preparation in breastfeeding. But most expectant mothers do not breast care, behaviors and techniques that do not really matter. In fact, during pregnancy the breasts will swell and the area around the nipple color will be dark. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship behavior of pregnant women with breast care at the health center districts sibanggor jae Sorik Merapi peakdistrictMandailingChristmas2016. Design of this research is Descriptive Correlational with Cross Sectional approach. Total population in this study were 35 respondents. The sampling technique used is total sampling, and obtained 35 respondents. Analysis of the data by univariateand bivariateanalysis withasignificance level of 0.05and astatistical test used was chi-square test. The results of this study indicate that the behavior of respondents is less (40.0%), while the results of breast care is not treated (54.3%). Chi square test results show the value and p <α of 0.05 (0.000 <0.05), which means thatthereisarelationshipbetween thebehavior ofpregnantwomen withbreastcare during pregnancy. The less the behavior of pregnant women breast care will not be treated. Suggested to the parties concerned to participate in improving the knowledgeofbreastcare.
