Abstract: Anemia is a medical condition in which the number of red blood cells or the hemoglobin is less than normal. Normal hemoglobin levels are generally different in males and females. For males anemia is usually defined as a hemoglobin level less than 13.5 gram / 100ml and in women as hemoglobin less than12g/100ml. Based on research, Anemia also is still is one of the factors behindthehighmaternalmortalityrateinIndonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of the level of knowledge with the incidence of anemia among adolescent girls in SMP Negeri 1 AngkolaWest2016. This type of research is descriptive correlation with cross sectional approach. The population is all girls or a class IX student at SMPN 1 Angkola West. A sample of 98 girls. Sampling is total sampling. Collecting data with enclosed questionnaire which had previously been tested for validity and reliability.Statisticaltestusedisatest-Square. The results showed that the respondents who have a good knowledge level 13, approximately 73.3%. Respondents with anemia, anemia 53.1%, not 46.9% anemia. The result of Chi Square test p-value of 0.000 (<0.05).It is expected to be able to provide counseling so as to determine the incidence of anemia in adolescentgirls.
