Abstract

Menopause is known as the expiration of the menstrual cycle in women naturally indicating that the ovaries have stopped producing eggs, menstrual activity decreases and eventually stops, as well as the establishment of female hormones (estrogen and progesterone) were reduced. Actual menopause occurs at the end of the last menstrual cycle. But the newly acquired certainty if the woman has not experienced the cycle for at least 12 months. This study aims to determine the relationship of knowledge and mother attitude tentag physical changes with the level of anxiety in the face of menopause. This type of research menggunaka Stui descriptive correlation with cross sectional design. Data were collected by interview questionnaires were used to evaluate the mother's knowledge menopause. The respondents are all mothers menopause in mompang jae as many as 40 people. Analaisis articles used were univariate and bivariate with Chi Square test. Theresultsshowedthatthemother'sknowledgeaboutmenopause majority by22votes(55%), just18people(45%). Withthevalueofp=0.001ifα <0.005 then Ho is rejected means Ha accepted, then there is a relationship between knowledge and the level of anxiety in the face of menopause. The results showed that the mother's attitude menopause majority being negative as many as 23 people (57.5%), and the minority to be positive in 17 (42.5%). With the result p = 0.003 if α <0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, then the relationship betweenattitudestothelevelofanxietyinthefaceofmenopause.
