Abstract: Insomnia is a condition in which a person has difficulty to sleep, especially sleep night. Insomnia is a common health problem in all environments, both in developed countries and developing countries. According to WHO, insomnia is the most common disease in the United States. Every year, approximately 20% 50%ofadultsexperiencingserioussleepdisorder. The purpose of this study was to determine the Factors Associated With Knowledge About Insomnia In Elderly In Nursing Home Ridho divine Titian District of Batang village of Huta Holbung Angkola South Tapanuli year 2016. This study design using analytical research with cross sectional method that aims to find the relationship between the different variables. Samples are elderly who have insomnia in a nursing home Ridho divine Titian District of Batang village of HutaHolbungAngkolaSouthTapanuli2016asmanyas35people. The results showed that out of 35 respondents there is a relationship between the age of the knowledge of the elderly (P = 0.002), there is a relationship between education on knowledge of elderly (P = 0.027), there is a relationship between the work prior to the knowledge of the elderly (P = 0.002), andNorelationtotheknowledgeresourcesofelderly(P=0.000). It is expected that the elderly to participate in counseling from the health department or other health care workers so that the elderly know how to avoid or preventtheoccurrenceofinsomniaintheelderly.
