Abstract

Condoms are the safest means of contraception, in addition to preventing pregnancy, condoms can prevent sexually transmitted infections. Condoms including barrier contraceptives that are used by the world community. Condoms have other advantages in terms of prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) so that ordinary people often associate condoms with sexual misconduct. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship husband's knowledge about contraception condoms with participation in the use of condoms in rural districts Hutamale Sorik Marapi peak district Mandailing Christmas2016. The design of this research is Descriptive Correlational with Cross Sectional approach. The samplingtechnique usingthe formulaArikunto by taking 25% of the total population, and obtained 33 respondents. Analysis of the data by univariate and bivariate analysis with a significance level of 0.05. Analyzed using chi square test. The results showed that the respondents' knowledge was less (36.4%), while the result of the use of condoms is not used (51.5%). Chi square test results show the value and p <α of 0.05 (0.002 <0.05), which means that there is a relationship between the relationship of knowledge about contraception condomswithparticipationintheuseofcondoms. Suggestedtothesocietyinordertofurtherimprove theknowledge about contraceptioncondoms.
