GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG PEMBERIAN MAKANAN TAMBAHAN PADA BAYI USIA 6-12 BULAN DI DESA SIMANGINTIR MANUNGGANG JAE KOTA PADANGSIDIMPUAN TAHUN 2021

Abstract

Supplementary food for infants is food or drink containing nutrients that is given to infants aged 6-24 months to meet nutritional needs other than breast milk. Supplementary feeding for infants under the age of six months is still high. WHO in 2019 which provides complementary food under the age of 2 months includes 64% of the total existing infants, 46% solid infants aged 2-3 months and 14% in infants aged 4-6 months. The purpose of this study was to identify a description of mother's knowledge about giving additional food to infants aged 6-12 months in Simangintir Manunggang Jae Village, Padangsidimpuan City in 2021. The type of research was quantitative with a descriptive design. The population in this study were mothers who had babies aged 6-12 months in Mangintir Manunggang Jae Village as many as 33 people in January 2022. The sample in this study were all mothers who had babies aged 6-12 months as many as 33 people using the total sampling method. The analysis used is univariate. The results of the analysis showed that the knowledge of mothers about giving additional food to infants aged 6-12 months was at a low level of knowledge as many as 15 people (45.5%), sufficient knowledge as many as 11 people (33.3%), and good knowledge as many as 7 people (21 people). ,2%). It is recommended for mothers who have babies aged 6-12 months to increase their knowledge by looking for information, especially in giving complementary feeding to infants aged 6-12 months
