dc.description.abstractPrimary dysmenorrhea is experienced by almost all women. In the world, the incidence of dysmenorrhea is very large, 50% more than the average woman in every country. According to the World Health Organization. The incidence of dysmenorrhea is quite high. The average incidence in young women is between 16.8 – 81%. Dysmenorrhea is the most common gynecological complaint and is experienced by many women. Symptoms commonly experienced during dysmenorrhea include sweating, headache, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea and tremors. The purpose of this research is to find out. This type of research is quantitative, with descriptive method. Research on the description of the characteristics and knowledge of adolescent girls about primary dysmenorrhea in DMK. N.3 Padangsidimpuan City in 2021 to as many as 45 people. The results of this study were the majority of the characteristics of adolescents aged 17 years were 20 people (44.4%) and the majority of adolescents' knowledge was less, namely 27 people (60.0%). It is hoped that teenagers will gain insight into dysmenorrhoea by attending counseling, seminars or reading books or literature related to dysmenorrhea. Another effort that can be done is to dig up information through health workersen_US
