dc.description.abstract | According to WHO in 2016 it is estimated that worldwide there are 162 million children under five, and if this trend continues without any efforts to reduce it, it will be 217 million by 2025. With a breakdown of 56% of children living in Asia and 36% in Africa , according to WHO the results of Riskesdas (2018), that the proportion of very short and short nutritional status from the results of Riskesdas in 2013 decreased, namely in 2013 by 37.2% and in 2018 by 30.8% and the government also stated that in the 2019 RPJMN the figure was reduced to 28%. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between LBW and the incidence of stunting. This research method is a qualitative descriptive research with case study method. The population in this study were families with toddlers aged 24–59 months who were included in the stunting category based on the anthropometric index table from the Ministry of Health, namely 1 person taken from the Case Study. Based on interviews with mothers of children under five, the results showed that mothers of toddlers were in the category of low knowledge, low education of mothers of toddlers, toddlers who were not exclusively breastfed and toddlers experienced low birth weight (LBW) with birth weight < 2500 Gr. From the results above, it was found that there was a relationship, education, exclusive breastfeeding and low birth weight babies with the incidence of stunting in toddlers 24-59 months in Hutaraja Village, Muara Batangtoru District, South Tapanuli Regency, suggestions for respondents should mothers provide nutritional intake to babies through exclusive breastfeeding and complementary feeding for stunting treatment. | en_US |
