Abstract: Data from Batu Horpak Health Center, Tano Tombangan Subdistrict, Angkola, South Tapanuli Regency in 2021 from 329 babies born, there were 6 babies who experienced neonatal jaundice. This study aims to examine the factors associated with the incidence of neonatal jaundice in newborns aged 0 – 7 days in the working area of the Batu Horpak Public Health Center, Tano Tombangan District, Angkola, South Tapanuli Regency in 2022. This type of research is analytic with a cross sectional design that has been carried out at Batu Horpak Health Center, Tano Tombangan Angkola District, South Tapanuli Regency from Januari to February 2022. The population of all neonates aged 0 – 7 days in Batu Horpak Health Center was 30 people with sample technique is accidental sampling. Collecting data using point lists, observations, and interviews. Then the data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate with static chi-square test. The results showed that 36,7% mothers had neonates with neonatal jaundice. Amounted to 33,3% mothers with preterm gestational age. Amounted 33,3% abnormal birth weight. As many as 30 % mothers are not good at giving breast milk to neonates. There was relationship between maternal gestational age (p=0.000), baby’s birth weight (p=0.000) and breastfeeding frequency (p=0.000) with the incidence of neonatal jaundice. The result of the study can be conclude that there is a relationship between maternal gestational age, baby birth weight and frequency of breastfeeding with the incidence of neonatal jaundice, it is hoped that health workers, especially midwives at Batu Horpak Health Center, will further improve the quality of services, especially in providing midwifery care to neonates who jaundice by using complete (comprehensive) obstetric management.
