Abstract: Exclusive breastfeeding is the best investment for children's health and intelligence. WHO in 2020 still shows that the average rate of exclusive breastfeeding in the world is only around 38 percent. In Indonesia although a large number of women (96%) breastfeed their children in their lifetime, only 42% of infants under 6 months of age are exclusively breastfed. This shows that the national target has not been achieved. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding in the Nagasaribu Health Center in 2021. This type of research was a quantitative study with a cross sectional study approach. The population was 30 mothers who had babies, and the sample of this study was 30 mothers who had babies. taken by total sampling technique. The research instrument is a questionnaire. The results of this study showed that there was a relationship between maternal knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding for infants 0-6 months with a P value (0.003). The conclusion is that there is a relationship between mother's knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding. For mothers who give birth to babies, they should be able to provide exclusive breastfeeding until the age of 6 months, and not provide food other than breast milk.
