dc.description.abstract | Stunting is one of the nutritional status problems in toddlers which is described as a form of growth failure due to poor nutrition and poor health during the prenatal and postnatal periods. Stunting appears as a result of a state of malnutrition that has accumulated over a long period of time so that its physical manifestations will be more visible at the age of 24-59 months. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between socio-cultural factors of eating on the prevention of stunting in children under five in Singali Village, Hutaimbaru District, Padangsidimpuan City. The type used in this research is a cross sectional study analysis approach. The population in Singali Village, Hutaimbaru District is 32 toddlers with an average age of 24-59 months, with a sample of 32 children under five in Singali Village. The analysis used is the chi-square test. The results show that from several variables used, namely the mother's knowledge of food nutrition in the good category 62.5% and 25% enough, and for the family diet variable the right category is 65.63% and 34.37% in the less precise category, for Qualitatively, the food caregiver pattern variable was in the right category by 71.87% and 28.12% in the less precise category, while for the dietary taboo variable for pregnant women as a whole it was in the right category. The conclusion of the analysis test results The social-cultural factors of eating that have an influence on the prevention of stunting in toddlers in Singali village, Padangsidimpuan Hutaimbaru sub-district are factors of mother's knowledge about food nutrition and dietary restrictions. | en_US |
