Abstract: HIV/AIDS is a devastating disease on an individual and national level because it destroys the immune system. The case of HIV/AIDS is an iceberg phenomenon, with the number of people reported being far less than what it actually is. Knowledge of HIV/AIDS affects attitudes and behaviors that are lacking, so they will behave and behave away from people who are infected with the disease. The survey conducted at SMA N 1 Ranto Utara, many students were enthusiastic to asking about things related to HIV/AIDS. Of the 10 samples interviewed, the majority knew the process of HIV/AIDS transmission, but did not know the difference between HIV and AIDS. The study purpose was to determine the effect of exposure to information sources with adolescent knowledge about HIV/AIDS in class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Utara Rantauprapat in 2021. The research method was a quantitative study with a cross sectional study design approach. The study was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Utara on 76 students of class XI majoring in science and social studies. Analysis of univariate and bivariate data used is Chi Square test. The results of the univariate test showed that the number of students exposed to information sources was 40 people (52.6%), the majority of students lacked knowledge was 52 people (68.4%). The results showed a significant relationship between exposure to information sources and adolescent knowledge about HIV/AIDS. (P value=0.004 <0.1). The results suggest that schools increase the provision of information through reproductive health learning to increase students' knowledge about HIV/AIDS so that students can keep themselves from falling into doing things that can cause/infect HIV/AIDS.
