Abstract: Labor is exhilarating, but that joy can turn into a sense of fear and anxiety when a mother feels labor pains when her contractions become more intense. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), as many as 200 million pregnant and childbirth women experience pain, fear during childbirth. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of deep breathing relaxation techniques on reducing labor pain in the active phase of the first stage at the Siabu Health Center in 2021. The type of research used was quantitative with a quasiexperimental design with a one group pretest-posttest approach. The population in this study were all active phase I inpartu mothers at the Siabu Health Center in 2021, with the sample being all active phase I inpartu mothers at the Siabu Health Center in 2021, using the purposive sampling method. The analysis used is the Wilcoxon test. The results of the non-parametric statistical test, namely the Wilcoxon test, showed that (p = 0.001), meaning that there was an effect of deep breathing relaxation techniques on reducing labor pain in the first stage of the active phase. Suggestions for mothers to be able to make deep breathing relaxation techniques one of the alternatives in overcoming the reduction of labor pain in pregnant women.
