Abstract: Lactational Amenorrhea Method (MAL) is a natural family planning method that has high effectiveness if done properly. Unfortunately, women in Indonesia do not know much about the Lactational Amenorrhea Method (MAL) compared to the pill or injectable contraception. The results of previous research conducted at the Pargarutan Health Center, South Tapanuli Regency using the interview method, it was found that 5 out of 10 respondents did not know about the Lactational Amenorrhea Method (MAL). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between postpartum mothers' behavior and the implementation of the lactational amenorrhoea method at the Pargarutan Health Center, South Tapanuli Regency in 2021. The type and design of this study was quantitative with a Cross Sectional Study design to determine the relationship between postpartum mothers' behavior in choosing the lactational amenorrhoea method (MAL). ). The population is all postpartum women who are in the working area of the Pargarutan Health Center, South Tapanuli Regency as many as 120 postpartum women, the sampling technique is some postpartum women who are in the working area of the Pargarutan Health Center, South Tapanuli Regency. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula, which was 30 postpartum mothers. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi Square test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge of postpartum mothers by choosing the Lactational Amenorrhea Method (MAL) and obtained p-value < 0.023, there was no significant relationship between postpartum mothers' attitudes by choosing the Lactational Amenorrhea Method (MAL) and obtained p-value 0.513, there is no significant relationship between the actions of postpartum mothers by choosing the Lactational Amenorrhea Method (MAL) and a p-value of 0.679 is obtained, and there is a significant relationship between the behavior of postpartum mothers by choosing the Lactational Amenorrhea Method (MAL) and the p-value is 0.037. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between knowledge and choosing MAL with a p value of 0.023 <0.05, there is no relationship between attitudes towards choosing MAL with a p value of 0.513 > 0.05, there is no relationship between actions towards choosing MAL with a p value of 0.679 > 0.05, there is a relationship behavior towards choosing MAL with p value 0.037 <0.05. For further researchers, they can continue this research by observing the variables related to the title of this study
