Abstract: The first trimester is the beginning of the trimester which causes nausea and vomiting (emesis gravidarum) in pregnant women. Nausea and vomiting usually occur in the morning (morning sickness), but some occur at night. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the incidence of nausea and vomiting is 50-90% of all pregnant women, 70-80% experience morning sickness. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of peppermint aromatherapy for nausea and vomiting in first trimester pregnant women in the Sihepeng Public Health Center, Siabu District in 2021. The type of research used was a quasi experiment with a pre-experimental design with a pretest and posttest approach. The population in this study were all first trimester pregnant women with nausea and vomiting in the Sihepeng Public Health Center, Siabu District as many as 30 people from April to June 2021, with the sample being all first trimester pregnant women with nausea and vomiting in the Sihepeng Community Health Center Work Area, Siabu District. 30 people in April – June 2021 using purposive sampling method. The analysis used is the McNemar test. The results of the non-parametric statistical test, namely the McNemar test, showed that (p = 0.000), meaning that there was an effect of peppermint aroma therapy on nausea and vomiting in first trimester pregnant women. Suggestions for mothers are to make peppermint aromatherapy an alternative in overcoming the reduction of nausea and vomiting. in first trimester pregnant women.
