Vasectomy/MOP (Male Surgical Method) is an alternative family planning method for men who have decided not to have any more children by undergoing minor surgery on the sperm ducts by blocking or blocking the pathway for sperm to prevent fertilization. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the participation of men in the use of the vasectomy contraceptive method in the Panyabungan District, Mandailing Natal Regency in 2021. The type of research was quantitative with a cross sectional study design. The sample in this study was 49 people, with the sampling technique carried out by purposive sampling. Data were collected through primary data by giving questionnaires to respondents. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate using Chi Square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p= 0.042), education (p= 0.026), wife's support (p= 0.001) and religion (p= 0.000) with male participation in the use of the vasectomy contraceptive method. The number of children and ethnicity (p= 0.566) did not correlate with male participation in the use of the vasectomy method of contraception. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between knowledge, education, wife's support, and religion with men's participation in the use of the vasectomy contraceptive method. Number of children and ethnicity are not related to male participation in the use of the vasectomy method of contraception. It is hoped that this research can be used as consideration in determining programs that can disseminate information about knowledge of male-specific contraception (Vasectomy), especially for men with reproductive age who have less knowledge.en_US
