HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN, DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DAN PERAN PETUGAS KESEHATAN DENGAN PENERAPAN INISIASI MENYUSU DINI PADA IBU POST PARTUM DI RSUD PANYABUNGAN

Abstract

Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD) is a process of letting the baby by his own instincts to suckle immediately within an hour after birth, along with the contact between the baby's skin and the mother's skin. The support of health workers plays a role in the implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation but there are still many health workers who do not support or motivate and do not facilitate the implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation during the delivery process and the commitment of health workers is not yet optimal to implement Early Initiation of Breastfeeding in newborns. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the support of health workers and the implementation of Early Initiation of Breastfeeding in women giving birth at Panyabungan Hospital. This study used an observational analytic survey design with a cross sectional approach. The population of this study were all spontaneous postpartum mothers in Panyabungan Hospital during May to July 2021 as many as 109 people. Where the research sample is 52 respondents using the accindential sampling method. The results of the statistical test with chi square obtained p-value = 0.000 which means there is a relationship between health worker support and Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD). Conclusion There is a relationship between the support of health workers for the implementation of IMD in women giving birth at the Panyabungan Hospital in 2021. Suggestions The results of this study can be added as reference material to add insight for health workers and postpartum mothers.
