Abstract

ABSTRACT The Death rate mothers and babies in Indonesia still high based on the results of the Demographic Survey and Indonesian Health (SDKI) 2016. Based on the direct estimation procedure, maternal mortality ratio maternal mortality rate of 359 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births for the period 2008-2016. Infant death for the five year period preceding the survey (2010-2016) was 32 deaths per 1000 live births. Maternal and Child Health Book (KIA) Is a simple tool but effective as an information tool, education, and communication. But in reality pregnant women in using the KIA book still low. The Citizen's awareness about health low pregnant women be a factor AKI and AKB determinants. Although there are still many factors that must be considered in handle the problem but one factor the cause of death of the family's ignorance to take advantage of the KIA handbook. The research method was Quantitative with the cross sectional study approach, Pupulation in this study the total of 30 people. The Sampling technique used total sampling where the number of samples was 30. The Data analysis used Chi Square test. The results showed knowledge 0.004 (0.004 <0.05), attitude 0.001 (0.001 <0.05) and action 0.000 (0.000 <0.05). The Research conclusions there was a Knowledge Relationship, attitudes and actions with the used of the KIA book In the village of Balimbing Julu Padang Bolak Julu District North Padang Lawas Regency in 2020. The Recommended for pregnant women in order to make used of the KIA handbook given by the health worker. Keywords : Knowledge, Attitudes, Actions, Utilization of the KIA Handbook.
