Abstract: | MIDWIFERY BACHELOR PROGRAM OF FACULTY THE HEALTH OF THE AUFA ROYHAN UNIVERSITY IN THE CITY PADANGSIDIMPUAN 2020 Research Report, 02 July 2020 Eva Wahyuni Rambe The Effect of Kangaroo Treatment Methods on Physiological Responses of Premature Babies in the Perinatology Room of the Padangsidimpuan City Hospital in 2020 ABSTRACT The Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) according to the World Health Organization (WHO, 2016) in several countries, such as Malaysia and Singapore, the infant mortality rate is below 10 per 1,000 live births, while in Indonesia it is still high, namely 25 deaths per 1,000 babies born. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of kangaroo treatment on the physiological response of premature babies in Padangsidimpuan City Hospital perinotology in 2020. This type of research is a quantitative study with a pre-experimental approach design with a one-group prepost test design. The population in this study were all mothers who had premature babies as many as 18 babies, and the sample of this study was 18 people who were taken using accident sampling technique. The research instrument was an observation sheet, the data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. There was a significant difference in body temperature of premature babies before and after PMK, namely the P value of 0.000. There was a significant difference in the heart rate of premature babies before and after PMK, namely P value 0.000, there was a significant difference in oxygen saturation of premature babies before and after PMK, namely P value 0.000 . It is hoped that respondents will increase their interest in seeking information and increase knowledge through electronic media, books, articles and through discussions with the closest health workers regarding the implementation of FMD on the physiological response of premature babies. . .
