Abstract: | THE STUDY PROGRAM OF MIDWIFERY BACHELOR PROGRAM FACULTY OF HEALTH, AUFA ROYHAN UNIVERSITY IN THE CITY OF PADANGSIDIMPUAN Research report, August 2020 Habibah Harahap The Effect of Red Ginger Drink (Zingiber Officinale Rose) on Emesis Gravidarum in Trimester I Pregnant Women in Purwodadi Village, Batunadua District, Padangsidimpuan City 2020 year. Abstract Emesis Grovidarum is nausea and vomiting that appears in the first four weeks of pregnancy and slowly disappears at twelve weeks of gestation. Nausea and vomiting that occurs in pregnancy are caused by an increase in the levels of the hormones estrogen and progesterone produced by Human Chorionic Gonadotropine (HCG) in the serum in the placenta. To determine the effect of warm red ginger drink (Zingiber officinale Rose) on Emesis Gravidarum in trimester I pregnant women. This type of research uses quantitative with a quasi experimental design. With the total population who experienced emesis gravidarum as many as 18 people. The sampling technique used total sampling where the entire population was sampled with a sample size of 18 people. This research was conducted in Purwodadi Village. The reason for choosing the location was that there had never been any research on drinking warm red ginger which can reduce nausea and vomiting in trimester I pregnant women. before and after being given red ginger drink to the respondents, there was a significant change with p = 0.012 (p <0.05). This conclusion indicates that there is a significant effect of giving warm red ginger drink (Zingiber officinale Rose) to Emesis Gravidarum in 1st trimester pregnant women.
