Abstract: | ABSTRACT Malaria is an important parasitic disease in the world and is still a major health problem. It is estimated that 41% of the world's population live in areas at high risk of malaria infection, especially in the tropics and subtropics. This study aims to study what factors are related to the incidence of malaria in pregnant women in the Panyabungan Jae Health Center working area. This study used analytical survey techniques and questionnaires with cross sectional design. The sample in this study was 40 pregnant women, 20 malaria respondents (+) and 20 malaria respondents (-). Data collection in this study used primary data by distributing questionnaires and secondary data in the form of data obtained from the results of tracing documentation studies on medical records in the working area of Panyabungan Jae Health Center. Data analysis was performed by univariate and bivariate analysis. Bivariate analysis aims to determine the relationship between variables using the chi square statistical test. The results showed an influence between gauze on ventilation (p = 0.022), wall density (p = 0.013), standing water (p = 0.043), trenches (p = 0.000), attitude (p = 0.004), knowledge (p = 0.004) and measures (p = 0.025) with the incidence of malaria in pregnant women. It is recommended that the Mandailing Natal District Government increase cross-sector cooperation by involving related agencies, community leaders and health cadres to improve the malaria eradication program in the Panyabungan Jae Health Center work area by conducting counseling, implementing planting patterns and optimizing regular irrigation systems in rice fields and environmental health.
