MIDWIFE PROGRAM OF HEALTH FACULTY AT AUFA ROYHAN IN PADANGSIDIMPUAN Report of the Research, July 2021 Mawaddatul Husniah Harahap The Effect of Giving Moringa Leaves (Moringa Oleifera) on Breast Milk Production to Breastfeeding Mothers 0-6 Months in Siamporik Village Lombang in 2021 ABSTRACT Fulfillment of the nutritional needs of infants 0-6 months is absolutely obtained through breast milk (ASI) for infants with exclusive breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is one of the efforts to improve the nutritional status of children in the first 1000 days of birth. Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that the coverage of breastfeeding in the world is around 50%. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving boiled water from Moringa leaves (moringa oleifera) on milk production in breastfeeding mothers 0-6 months in Siamporik Lombang Village in 2021. The type of research used was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design with a one group pretest and posttest approach. The population in this study were all mothers breastfeeding infants aged 0-6 months in Siamporik Lombang Village in January - June 2021 as many as 28 people, with a sample of all mothers breastfeeding infants aged 0-6 months as many as 28 people. The analysis used is the Wilcoxon test. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that (p=0.000), meaning that there was an effect of giving Moringa leaf boiled water on breast milk production in nursing mothers. Suggestions for mothers to be able to make Moringa leaf water stew as an alternative in overcoming breast milk production.
