Abstract: PROGRAM STUDY OF MIDWIFERY BACHELOR PROGRAM OF FACULTY OF HEALTH, AUFA ROYHAN UNIVERSITY IN PADANGSIDIMPUAN CITY Research Report, August 2020 Neny The Effect of Deep Breath Relaxation on Decreasing Menstrual Pain in Adolescents At the Darul Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School, Goti Village, Padangsidimpuan Tenggara in 2020 Dysmenorrhea is pain in the lower abdomen, waist and back caused by an increase in the hormone prostaglandin which makes the uterine muscles (uterus) contract. The incidence of primary dysmenorrhea in Indonesia is 54.89% while the rest are secondary type sufferers. Dysmenorrhea causes work obstruction in approximately 34-50% of women and 40% is absent from school. Therapy using non-pharmacological to reduce pain intensity, one of which can be done by using deep breath relaxation. This study aims to determine the greater effect of deep breath relaxation on reducing menstrual pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of deep breath relaxation on menstrual pain in adolescents at the Darul Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School, Goti Village, Padangsidimpuan Tenggara District in 2020. This research is a quantitative type, the research method is Quasi Experiment with One group pre test post test design research design. Samples were taken using purposive sampling. The sample size is 25 respondents. Data analysis using Wilcoxon. The results showed that the P-Value was 0.000 <0.05. The conclusion is the effect of deep breath relaxation on reducing menstrual pain in adolescents in. at the Darul Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School, Goti Village, Padangsidimpuan Tenggara Subdistrict in 2020. Suggestions for students who experience menstrual pain to relax their breaths regularly and regularly and carry out movements properly and correctly in the hope that the menstrual pain experienced can be reduced every month.
