dc.description.abstract | Abstract Children under five years of age experience malnutrition based on their low body weight compared to their age and the prevalence of malnutrition and malnutrition among children under five years of age in Indonesia is a public health problem that falls into the medium category with the WHO indicator known to be malnutrition of 17.8 %. The purpose of this study was to analyze factors related to the nutritional status of children under five in Bandar Tarutung Village, Angkola Sangkunur District, South Tapanuli Regency in 2020. The research method was quantitative cross-sectional study design. The research was conducted in Bandar Tarutung Village, Sangkunur District, South Tapanuli Regency to 170 young women (mothers who have toddlers) with a sample of 119 mothers. The data analysis used is Chi-Square. The results showed a relationship between age and nutritional status in children under five, where the p-value is 0.030 (p <0.05). There is a relationship between education and nutritional status in children under five, where the p-value is 0.007 (p <0.05). There is a relationship between work and the nutritional status of children under five, where the p-value is 0.019 (p <0.05). There is a relationship between family income and the nutritional status of children under five, where the p-value is 0.008 (p <0.05). There is a relationship between knowledge and nutritional status in children under five, where the p-value is 0.001 (p <0.05). The results of this study recommend that the South Tapanuli District Health Office improve monitoring and evaluation of the nutritional status of children under five and act quickly when finding causes of under-nutrition and malnutrition of children under five, as well as improving existing nutrition programs to improve the nutritional status of children under five in all levels of society. especially Bandar Tarutung Village.
