M Siregar The Effect of Counseling with Decision Making Tools on the Selection of Contraceptives for Postpartum Mothers at the Batangtoru Health Center, South Tapanuli Regency in 2020. ABSTRAC Indonesia is one of the developing countries in the world, which is ranked 4th with the largest population in the world. Indonesia has policies to control population growth, including through the Family Planning (KB) program. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of counseling on family planning acceptors in the decision making of postpartum contraceptives. The current method is Quasi Experiment desaign with one group pretest posttest design research design. The population was 26 postpartum mothers at Puskesmas Batangtoru. Data were collected using a family planning counseling questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using the T-Test (paires sample T-test). Based on the research results, it was found that there was an effect of knowledge, attitudes and actions on the choice of contraceptives with 0.000. There is a significant effect between not given counseling and counseling in the decision making of postpartum contraceptives. It is recommended that health workers continue to provide counseling to each prospective acceptor to improve their use of contraceptives.
