Abstract: | STUDY OF NURSING PROGRAM UNIVERSITY OF AUFA ROYHAN SCHOOL PADANGSIDIMPUAN Research Report, July 2020 Ahmad Rasid Batubara The Effect Of Touch Therapy In Legs With Essential Oil Lavender In Reducing Blood Pressure In Hypertension Patients Aged 50-75 Years Abstract Hypertension is a condition without symptoms, where the pressure is abnormally high in the arteries which can lead to an increased risk of stroke, heart failure, heart attack and heart damage. This study aims to analyze the effect of touch therapy on feet with lavender essential oil in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients aged 50-75. The research design used was a quasi-experimental, with pre and post test. The study population was 159 people, the study sample was 21 people using purposive sampling technique. The results of the Wilcoxon test in this study showed the effect of touch therapy on feet with lavender essential oil in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients aged 50-75 with a mean value before intervention of 3.19 and a value after intervention of 1.86. The results of this study showed that there was an effect of touch therapy on feet with lavender essential oil in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients aged 50-75 with a p-value (p = 0.00). The research results are expected to be implemented as an alternative treatment that can treat hypertension in addition to pharmacological treatment.
