E NURSING STUDY PROGRAM UNIVERSITY AUFA ROYHAN PADANGSIDIMPUAN Research Report, Auguts 2020 Silvia THE EFFECT OF MIRROR THERAPY ON INCREASING MUSCLE STRENGTH IN STROKE PATIENT AT PADANGSIDIMPUAN CITY HOSPITAL Abstract Stroke is a disease of brain anatomical dysfunction that occurs suddenly and quickly due to bleeding in the brain. This study aims to determine the Effect Of Mirror Therapy On Improvement Of Muscle Strength In Stroke Patients at Padangsidimpuan City Hospital . This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a sample of 20 respondents. The results of data analysis with the Shapiro Wilk test on the average muscle strength before the intervention obtained the value of p = 0.009 (p> 0.05) and after the intervention the value of p = 0.075 (p> 0.05) was obtained. So for the pre test group it was obtained 0.009 means that the data is not normally distributed. The results of data analysis using the Wilcoxon test obtained Pvalue = 0.000 (<0.05). Conclusion that there is an effect of muscle strength after being given mirror therapy. Suggestions from this study are expected that respondents can understand and apply mirror therapy to increase muscle strength.
