Abstract: | PROGRAM STUDI KEPERAWATAN PROGRAM SARJANA UNIVERSITAS AUFA ROYHAN PADANGSIDIMPUAN Research report, August 2019 Juwita sahara The Effect of Giving Warm Compresses to the Intensity of Breast Swelling Pain in Post Partum Mothers Abstrak Warm compresses is the act of giving warmth to certain areas by using fluids or tools that cause warmth to the parts of the body that need it. Warm compresses have the advantage of increasing blood flow to an area and may help reduce pain by accelerating the healing and imflamation experienced by a person. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving warm compresses to the intensity of breast swelling pain in post partum mothers. This research method is quasi-experimental (pre-experimental). This research conducted in Rumah sakit Umum Daerah Kota Padangsidimpuan against 20 respondents, 20 post partum mothets. The data analysis used was Paired T-Test. The results showed that there was a significant effect of warm compresses on the intensity of breast swelling pain in postb partum mothers after intervention is p=0,000 (p<0,05). The results of this study recommend maternity nursing measure regarding the provision of warm compresses to be used as one of the nursing interventions on the problem of breast swelling in post partum mothers throught the efforts of health workers in hospital.
