HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN PENDERITA HIPERTENSI DENGAN UPAYA PENCEGAHAN KEJADIAN STROKE

Abstract

The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia based on blood pressure measurement at ≥ 18 years is 25,8%. Hypertension is a major cause of increased risk of stroke, heart and kidney. The aim is to determine the relationship between knowledge of hypertension patients and prevention of stroke event. The method in this study used Descriptive Correlative with cross sectional. Respondents in this study amounted to 40 people. The statistical test used is the Chi Square test. The result of this study indicate a relationship between knowledge of hypertension patients with efforts to prevent stroke event with p-value = 0,001 (<α 0,05). The conclusion of this study is that knowledge has as influential role for people with hypertension to prevent of stroke.
