dc.description.abstractNadia Sani Hasibuan THE EFFECT OF BINAHONG LEAF BOILD WATER TO REDUCTION OF BLOOD PRESSURE IN ELDERLY Abstract Hypertension is a condition where blood pressure is experiencing of improvement that gives continuing symptoms in a target organ of the body. Based on the cause, hypertension divided 2, primary and secondary hypertension. Based on the WHO in 2015 hypertension suffered by 1,13 billion people and every year 9,4 million people died due to hypertension. One of alternative drug for resolve hypertension is binahong leaf. Consume binahong leaves can stabilize blood flow wich carries nutrients to each cell tissue. This study aims to determine of the effect of binahong leaf boild water to reduction of blood pressure in elderly. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a sample of 24 respondents. The results of data analysis using wilcoxon test with a p value of 0,000 (p<0.05). Then it can be concluded there the effect of binahong leaf boild water to reduction of blood pressure in elderly of people with hypertension. In patients with hypertension can consume boiled water binahong leaves to reduce blood pressure at least 2 times a day.
