Hubungan tingkat pengetahuan tim bedah dengan kepatuhan pelaksanaan (surgical safety checklist)

Abstract

Abstract Background: Surgical safety checklist (SSC) is used in the operating room to improve surgical safety and minimize errors during surgical operations. Limited understanding of filling out the SSC has the potential to create patient safety issues that directly impact patient safety information. Purpose: To determine the relationship between the level of surgical team knowledge and compliance with implementation (surgical safety checklist). Method: Quantitative research with descriptive correlational design, was conducted on nurses who are members of the surgical team of the Central Surgical Installation of Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Hospital Samarinda with a sample of 95 respondents. The independent variable in this study is knowledge of surgical patient safety (SSC) and the dependent variable is compliance with the implementation of SSC. Data analysis used the univariate and bivariate Chi-square test. Results: The majority of respondents have received socialization of knowledge about patient safety, which is 88 people (92.6%). The level of compliance with the implementation of SSC is 60 people (63%) and the results of the Chi-Square test of the relationship between knowledge and compliance obtained a p value of 0.683> α. Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and compliance with the implementation of surgical safety checklists on patient safety. Suggestion: It is expected to improve compliance with the implementation of surgical safety checklists by adding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the field and providing awards for employees who comply and sanctions for those who violate the implementation of SSC compliance.
