Abstract: Abstract Background: Nurse satisfaction should be the main concern of hospital management so that nurses can work effectively in providing services. Nurses are the front line in services that are present 24 hours to accompany patients. Nurse satisfaction will have an impact on patient satisfaction as recipients of health services. Purpose: To analyze the relationship between work motivation and nurses' job satisfaction. Method: Quantitative analytical research with a cross sectional approach, conducted at the Sidikalang Regional General Hospital on 89 nurses, samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and data tabulation using a Likert scale. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate Spearman Rank tests. Results: Most of the respondents' work motivation fell into the sufficient category, namely 75.3% and the relationship between work motivation and satisfaction obtained p-value=0.002 with r=0.329. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between nurses' work motivation and nurses' job satisfaction. Suggestion: Further research needs to be carried out regarding the relationship and influence of work motivation on nurses' job satisfaction with more specific factors.
