Abstract Background: Heart failure is a chronic disease that requires long-term treatment. Chronic health problems cause sufferers to feel isolated due to limited mobility, thereby reducing or eliminating the ability to interact or contribute meaningfully to society. Care for heart failure sufferers requires family support so that the patient's self-efficacy is high to maintain survival. Self-efficacy in coronary patients has been studied to determine its relevance to the behaviors involved in heart failure rehabilitation. Family support includes being a caregiver for the patient in selfcare, influencing the patient's self-efficacy where the family acts as a motivator for emotional support, empathy, and information about the patient's health in improving the quality of life. Purpose: To determine the relationship between family support and self-efficacy in heart failure sufferers. Method: This research design used a correlational descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach to analyze the relationship between family support and self-efficacy in heart failure sufferers. In this study the population were heart failure patients who underwent control at the Heart Polyclinic, Sebelas Maret University Hospital in the January-August 2023 period, totaling 644 patients. The sampling technique in this study used nonprobability sampling with the accidental sampling method, the sample size was calculated using the Slovin formula with a total of 270 patients. Results: There is a relationship between family support and self-efficacy in heart failure sufferers which shows a strong correlation (r=0.685) and a significant value (p-value) of 0.000. Conclusion: Family support is needed by heart failure sufferers to increase their self-efficacy. Suggestion: It is recommended for health workers to involve families in efforts to increase self-efficacy in heart failure sufferers because respondents who receive high family support tend to have high self-efficacy. Selfefficacy can increase if emotional and physiological conditions are good. If self-efficacy increases, a good level of independence will be obtained, so that with good self-efficacy, heart failure sufferers are able to make optimal decisions in maintaining their health.
