Abstract: Abstract Background: Chronic kidney failure is a serious global health problem with prevalence increasing every year. One type of therapy that can be used by chronic kidney failure patients to maintain body function is hemodialysis. Hemodialysis is a blood cleansing procedure through an artificial kidney or dialyzer and assisted by a machine. A complication that often occurs in chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis is uremic pruritus or dry and itchy skin. Purpose: To determine the effect of providing olive ointment therapy on complaints of dry and itchy skin in chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis. Method: Pre-experimental research design using one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were chronic kidney failure patients who underwent hemodialysis in January-October 2023. The sample in this study consisted of 17 participants who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis in this study used univariate and bivariate paired sample t tests. Results: Based on the paired sample t test, it is known that the p-value obtained is 0.000 (P<0.05). This shows that there is a difference in the average complaints of dry and itchy skin in chronic kidney failure patients before and after being given olive ointment. Conclusion: There is an effect of giving olive ointment on complaints of dry and itchy skin in kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis.
