Abstract: | Abstract Background: Dysmenorrhea is a condition characterized by abdominal pain or menstrual cramps. Students often experience dysmenorrhea, which can affect their quality of life and academic performance. Health education and effleurage massage have been proposed as nonpharmacological interventions that can help reduce dysmenorrhoea pain in college students. Purpose: To evaluate the effect of health education and effleurage massage on reducing dysmenorrhea pain in college students. Method: Quasy eksperiment pre-test and post-test with a control group Design. The number of second-semester students who experienced dysmenorrhea pain was 80 people then divided into two groups with control and intervention groups. Assessment instrument using dysmenorrhea knowledge and pain questionnaire with Numeric Rating Scale. Data analysis using Independent T-test and Mann-Whitney test. Results: The analysis found that the increase in pain management knowledge in the control group was significantly lower than in the intervention group (25.38 (11.11); 32.40 (14.34); p-value 0.017). The result of pain reduction in the control group was less than the decrease in pain in the intervention group significantly (-0.23 (0.62); -3.68 (0.76); p-value 0.000). Conclusion: Health education and effleurage massage are effective in increasing knowledge in the treatment of dysmenorrhea and can reduce dysmenorrhea pain. Suggestion: In addition to measuring pain intensity, data collection on changes in quality of life, anxiety levels, or stress in students after the intervention is also considered to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the impact of health education and massage effleurage on students with dysmenorrhea.
