ABSTRACT Patient visit is one of the hospital performance indicators. Several factors influence a decrease in patient visits to a hospital. This study identified factors that caused the decrease in outpatient visits to Surabaya Surgical Hospital from the perspective of internal business process. This study used a quantitative research method with a crosssectional design and descriptive approach. This study employed a checklist sheet-based interview distributed to the units of health assurance, marketing, human resources, outpatients, and emergency room, while the questionnaire-based interview was conducted to 79 outpatients and 23 employees at Surabaya Surgical Hospital. The research variables included innovation development, operational process, and customer management processes (marketing). The results showed that only one variable had a less average value, i.e., the customer management processes variable (marketing) with a poor average value (2.49). Particularly, the indicators which had the lowest average score were promotion and communication because the promotions advertised by the hospitals were not distributed fairly to the society. In conclusion, the decrease in outpatient visits at Surabaya Surgical Hospital was due to the customer management processes (marketing), specifically the promotion and communication..

ABSTRACT The phenomena of child marriage are still controversial in the society. According to the child protection law, someone aged less than 18 years is not allowed to get married. The marriage law states that it is legal for women married at the age of 16 as long as they get permission from their parents. Parents significantly play in their child's marriage decisions, and thus they become the actors for reducing the prevalence of child marriages. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between parental factors and the incidence of child marriage in Wonosari subdistrict , Malang district. This study used an analytical-observational approach with a case-control design. This study was conducted in Wonosari sub-district, Malang district and involved 88 samples which were then divided into 44 people in the case group and 44 people in the control group, selected using a simple random sampling technique. Variables included child marriage, family income, and educational background of the head of the family. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test (α=0.05). The results showed that there was a relationship between educational background (P = 0.000) and family income (P = 0.000) with the incidence of child marriage. In conclusion, the educational background of the head of the family and family income were related to the incidence of child marriage. The Indonesian government should make a consensus regarding the age limit stated in between the marriage law and the child protection law by considering child’s physical, mental, and reproductive health.

ABSTRACT Health Risk Assessment (HRA) is a part of risk assessment. The utility area at X Ltd., Lubricant Production Unit of Gresik use machines that impact on health due to noise and temperature hazards. This study aimed to identify health risk assessment in the utility area at X Ltd., Lubricant Production Unit in Gresik. This was an observational descriptive study with a cross-sectional design used a total population of 9 people including 1 supervisor for Health Safety Environment (HSE), 3 HSE officers, and 5 workers. Primary data were obtained from interviews, observations, as well as noise and temperature measurements. Secondary data were retrieved from the company’s documents. The data were assessed in terms of the likelihood and severity to count the risks. Afterwards, the risk control was assessed, and the residual risk was calculated. The results showed that 3 work steps had 6 potential hazard noise and temperature in the utility area. The risk assessment showed the levels of risk were categorized into medium risk and low risk. The medium risk was found in the boiler monitoring and compressor. While the low risk was found in the stage of preparing CNG gas and turning on the machines. The control effectiveness was 75%. The residual risk was grouped into a low risk and no risk. It can be concluded that the potential hazard in the utility area was noise. Most of the risks found in this area were categorized as low risks. The company has properly implemented the risk control. Therefore, there will be no residual risk. The company should monitor the implementation of controls, such as fit to work, the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), promoting staff how to use PPE, giving rewards and punishments to motivate workers to have safe behavior at work.

ABSTRACT Production activities of variouswork are done in a fabrication unit and can lead to occupational accidents, for instance, accidents in the grinding process. The grinding process results in inevitable potential hazards and risks that must be controlled to minimize the occurrence of accidents. This study assessed the risk of grinding process in the fabrication unit of X Ltd., Surabaya. This study was an observational descriptive study with a cross-sectional design. The primary data were collected through interviews and observations, while the secondary data were obtained from the company’s document. The risk identification showed 21 hazards in the grinding process. Based on the risk assessment, these hazards were classified into 13 low risks, 5 medium risks, and 3 high risks. The high risks were found during the wheel rotation, grinding sparks, and material falls.
