Abstract: Introduction: Hypertension is a degenerative disease affecting all ages, especially the elderly. This condition with poor management can cause fatal complications. One of the interventions to reduce blood pressure is the Benson relaxation technique which is very simple and can be practiced by patients themselves. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of Benson relaxation therapy through family empowerment on lowering blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. Method: This research is quantitative with a pretest and post-test study design. A total of 44 respondents agreed to participate divided into intervention and control groups. This study was conducted in three three-month periods of data collection (July-September 2023) at one of the community health centers, in Indonesia. Instruments used in this study are measuring demographic characteristics and blood pressure observation. Result: The majority of respondents were aged 55-65 years old (54.5%) and female. There was a statistically significant effect of Benson Relaxation therapy through family empowerment on blood pressure in elderly hypertension with p-value < 0.005. Conclusion: It can be concluded that Benson Relaxation therapy through Family Empowerment is effective on the fourth day of measurement in reducing systolic blood pressure and effective on the third day of measurement in reducing diastolic blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension.

Authors: Betty Rahayuningsih, Faizah; Kristinawati, Beti
Abstract: Introduction: Health education about pregnancy care is important to increase the knowledge of pregnant women so that it will encourage positive attitudes and behavior towards the health of the mother and fetus. Audiovisual media and leaflets are often used to convey health information. Objective: This research aims to determine the differences in the effectiveness of the two media in increasing knowledge, attitudes and practices of pregnancy services for pregnant women at the Tambakromo Community Health Center. Method: This research uses an experimental design with a two group pretest posttest design. The research sample was 76 pregnant women at the Tambakromo Community Health Center who were divided into two groups randomly. The first group was given health education using audiovisual media, and the second group was given leaflet media. Data were analyzed using the Independent Sample T-test and Mann Whitney with p<0.05. Result: Respondents' knowledge, attitudes and pregnancy care practices increased after being given health education. Audiovisual media is more effective than leaflet media in increasing knowledge (p-value = 0.004), practice (p-value = 0.007), and attitudes (p-value = 0.010) of pregnant women regarding pregnancy care. Conclusion: Increased knowledge, attitudes and practices show that both media are effective in increasing pregnant women's awareness about the importance of pregnancy checks. However, audiovisual media has proven to be more effective because it is multisensory, making it more interesting and easier to understand. Health education using audiovisual media is more effective than leaflet media in increasing knowledge, attitudes and practices of pregnancy care among pregnant women at the Tambakromo Community Health Center

Abstract: Introduction: The most common types of cancer among women adults are cervical cancer that can be prevented by doing IVA practice. One of the factors contributing to the low practice of women performing early detection through IVA is lack of knowledge. Action should be made to improve information through health promotion using various learning education combinations with technology and conventional methods with Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and creative videos. Objective: To explore the impact of innovative health education on women's adult knowledge, attitudes, and practice of IVA test examinations. Method: This research uses a quantitative quasi-experimental with a group pre-test and post-test design and divided into two intervention groups. Convenience sampling method was approached during two months of data collection from August-September 2023. A structured instrument was used to measure knowledge, attitudes, and practice (KAP). Result: The pre-test showed average knowledge value before the intervention was 1.95 and attitude was 0.45 and after the intervention, it was 9.80 and attitude 0.95, respectively. The statistical result showed a significant difference with a value of 0.000 (<0.05). The practice of IVA test before was 5% and after the intervention was 90%. The FGD and video educational methods influence knowledge, attitudes, and practice of IVA tests. Conclusion: The FGD and video educational methods influence knowledge, attitudes, and practice of IVA tests. There is a need to develop other educational methods combination between FGD and video to increase IVA test information therefore it will influence women adult interest in carrying out IVA tests as an effort to detect cervical cancer early.

Title: ANALYSIS OF KNOWLEDGE AND NURSE COMPETENCIES RELATED TO ADVANCED CARE FOR TRAUMA PATIENTS IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM IN SOUTH SULAWESI
Authors: Yustilawati, Eva; Zahrani, Gina; Fitriani, Aidah; Ria, Purnama; A. Hakim, Suhatman
Abstract: Introduction: The Emergency Room is a unit that provides initial treatment for trauma patients. Trauma cases contribute to disability and suffering, making it the fourth leading cause of death worldwide. In 2021, the prevalence of trauma-related deaths was approximately 4.4 million people globally, with 8% of cases resulting in death. This phenomenon highlights the importance of health workers, possessing specialized knowledge and competence in emergencies, including triage, primary, and secondary assessment. Objective: The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between knowledge and nurse competence in providing follow-up care for trauma cases at the ER in South Sulawesi. Method: The research method utilized in this study is quantitative, employing a cross-sectional approach with a total sample of 37 respondents selected through the total sampling technique. The research was conducted at Ibnu Sina Hospital and Bayangkara Hospital in Makassar. Data were collected through questionnaires and competency observation sheets, and subsequently tested using a correlation test. The results of the univariate test indicate that nurses possess good knowledge in various aspects of follow-up care, including triage, primary survey, and secondary survey. Additionally, their competencies in these areas are also well-developed. Result: The correlation test revealed significant relationships between knowledge and triage competence (p-value of 0.01), knowledge and primary survey competencies (p-value of 0.047), as well as knowledge and secondary survey competencies (p-value of 0.04). These findings suggest that a higher level of knowledge among Emergency Room nurses regarding follow-up care corresponds to better competence in managing trauma cases in the emergency room. Conclusion: it can be concluded that there exists a relationship between nurses' knowledge regarding follow-up care and their competence in three aspects: triage, primary survey, and secondary survey. Based on these findings, it is recommended that nurses can enhance their competencies through training and can apply high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation to improve patient safety.
